Key Responsibilities:-

SQL Server Database Development & Optimization

Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases to support reporting and analytics needs.

Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.

Perform query tuning and performance optimization (indexes, execution plans, query refactoring).

Ensure data integrity, security, availability, and consistency across databases.

Support ETL processes and data transformations (SQL-based or via scheduled jobs).

SSRS Reporting

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain SSRS reports (tabular, matrix, charts, sub-reports, drill-through).

Create and manage report parameters, datasets, expressions, and report subscriptions.

Optimize SSRS report performance and ensure scalability.

Maintain and enhance existing reports based on evolving business requirements.

Work closely with business users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document reporting requirements.

Power BI Development & Analytics

Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

Design and implement efficient data models, including relationships, calculated columns, and measures.

Write advanced DAX expressions for calculations, KPIs, and business logic.

Integrate multiple data sources (SQL Server, flat files, APIs, etc.) into Power BI datasets.

Implement data refresh strategies, row-level security (RLS), and publish reports to Power BI Service.

Apply best practices for visualization design, usability, and performance optimization.

Collaboration & Support

Partner with cross-functional teams including business users, data engineers, and application teams.

Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions.

Provide production support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for reports and dashboards.

Document technical designs, data models, and reporting solutions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL).

Extensive hands-on experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).

Advanced expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report & dashboard design).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional, collaborative teams.

Good communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schema).

Knowledge of MS Fabric.

Exposure to Power BI Service administration, gateways, and deployment pipelines.

Knowledge of ETL tools or SSIS (added advantage).

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
