As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, implement and evangelise for cross-team projects that both have a company-wide business impact and at the same time, pushing our technical status-quo forward. We expect you to be mindful, approachable, experienced in a wide range of technologies and an expert in designing & building highly available distributed systems.

  • Java, NodeJS Python, Go

  • Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform

  • Google Cloud Platform (Pub/Sub, GCS, BigQuery, BigTable, Dataflow, ...), AWS (RedShift, Kinesis, S3)

  • Passionate about technology but also interested in the business impact of projects you work on

  • Able to gather requirements, create a delivery plan and handle alignment between different teams/departments to deliver your project, you will have end-to-end responsibility.

  • Able to lead internal discussions about the direction of major areas of technology in Omio

  • Able to mentor & inspire engineers across the organisation

  • As a thoughtful leader and evangelist, you work out architecture, engineering best practices and solutions across the Tech department. We expect you to contribute to both internal and external tech-talks representing Omio

  • You provide full and detailed analysis, insightful comments and recommendations for action. You contribute to the development of the tribe strategy across the organisation

  • You actively champion and drive the architectural evolution towards AI-native development and agent-based engineering practices across the organization.

Qualifications


  • 7+ years in Software Engineering position

  • Deep knowledge in the JVM environment, large-scale distributed systems and cloud solutions

  • Solid communication competences to transport vision, align teams and to advise the management team, good English language skills

  • Experience in new product development and project management

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of internal and external customers

  • Proactive problem solving - you resolve obstacles before they can become problems

  • Method expert, ability to quickly interpret an extensive variety of technical information and find resolution and the method to an issue quickly.

  • Experience with AI-native development and leveraging large language models/coding agents for all phases of the software development lifecycle (e.g., code generation, task creation, documentation, PR review).

  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar architectures for integrating AI agents into IDEs/terminals.

  • Ability to implement and use AI agent skills or reusable workflows for complex tasks like incident triage and automated deployment/maintenance.

  • Understanding of context engineering to improve AI agent performance.

  • Interest or experience in building applications with AI agents and foundation models.
