Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can own the final stretch of development for our web platform. The core architecture and design are already in place including a complete Figma design, an established Next.js frontend, a NestJS backend, and a PostgreSQL database.

Your mission: step in, review what's been built, clean up the structure where needed, and deliver a fully optimized, production-ready platform.

Description

You'll collaborate directly with the company founder and a small, focused team. You'll have creative freedom to make architectural and technical decisions, ensure best practices, and deliver clean, maintainable, and secure code.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and finalizing existing frontend (Next.js) and backend (NestJS) codebases.
• Integrating PostgreSQL with scalable, well-designed schemas.
• Building new features based on Figma designs and refining existing ones.
• Optimizing performance, security, and database queries.
• Ensuring seamless API communication and real-time responsiveness.
• Preparing the platform for public launch and ongoing maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of full-stack development experience SPECIFICALLY with Next.js, NestJS, and PostgreSQL.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS / Vercel / Docker).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership from start to finish.
• Strong skills in Computer Science fundamentals and Programming
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Knowledge of web security best practices and performance optimization
• Bonus: UI/UX polish, TypeScript mastery, aviation interest (we love that)
