As a Senior Software Engineer within our Engineering R&D team, you'll be instrumental in the development and support of critical medical devices. You'll work closely with fellow engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions, participating in all phases from design to code. A Day in the Life

You will contribute to cutting-edge medical device software by:

  • Participating as a key member of software project or sub-project team(s) in the development of software applications for product and/or test tools.
  • Adhering strictly to defined development plans, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Generating high-quality work products, including design documentation, software code, and unit test plans.
  • Translating complex requirements/specifications into clear designs and ultimately into functional software.
  • Actively participating in requirements, design, and code reviews to ensure robust and maintainable software.
  • Contributing to other essential activities, such as performing hazard and risk analysis and reviewing designs and tests.
  • Functioning seamlessly within a collaborative team environment, fostering effective communication.
  • Demonstrating and promoting good coding practices to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Interacting frequently with team members from other disciplines, particularly hardware engineers, to develop project requirements and other project artifacts. Potential interaction also includes clinicians, third-party vendors, manufacturers, and other users.
  • Continuously focusing on improvements that bring value to our customers.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Sciences, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferred: M.E. or M.Tech. in Computer Sciences, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 4-12 years of embedded software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with C++ 11 and above versions.
  • Hands-on experience with QT/QML for user interface development.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Test tool for unit testing.
  • Hands-on experience with operating systems like Linux or any RTOS (Real-Time Operating System).
  • Proven experience in embedded application development and unit testing.
  • Good understanding of multithreading in both design and implementation.
  • Experience with projects that require hardware/software interfacing.
  • Experience with tools like JAMA, STASH / BITBUCKET / GIT / JIRA / CONFLUENCE / BAMBOO for development and project management.
  • Good knowledge of Agile principles and solid experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical instruments development experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with a documented software development process or familiarity with FDA and ISO standards like IEC 62304 (Medical device software Software life cycle processes) is a significant plus.
