About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a key technical contributor in building our AI-powered platform that's reimagining how dental insurance works. You'll architect and develop Python-based microservices that process millions of claims, automate complex workflows, and directly impact the healthcare experience for providers and patients nationwide. This is an on-site role based in Bengaluru, where you'll collaborate closely with the team in our office every day.

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (On-Site)

Responsibilities

• Build Microservices: Design and develop high-performance Python microservices using FastAPI that handle insurance transactions at scale
• API Development: Create robust, well-documented RESTful APIs with FastAPI and GraphQL endpoints using Strawberry that connect providers, insurers, and patients in real-time
• Cloud Architecture: Leverage Google Cloud Platform services (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL) to build scalable, resilient systems
• Database Design: Optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for complex insurance data models and high-throughput operations
• AI Integration: Collaborate with our ML team to deploy AI models into production using FastAPI endpoints
• Service Orchestration: Design inter-service communication patterns and implement event-driven architectures within our microservices ecosystem
• Infrastructure as Code: Define and manage cloud infrastructure using Pulumi with Python
• Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize Python code, database queries, and API response times
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, establish FastAPI best practices, and drive code quality standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong Python expertise
• Production experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks (Flask, Django)
• Proven track record building and maintaining microservices architectures
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL including complex queries, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage)
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design, async programming in Python, and API documentation standards
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration in GCP
• Solid grasp of Python best practices, including type hints, testing (pytest), and code organization
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Required Skills

• Experience with FastAPI's advanced features: dependency injection, background tasks, WebSockets
• Experience with GraphQL implementation using Strawberry GraphQL
• Knowledge of Python async/await patterns and asyncio
• Experience with Pulumi for infrastructure as code
• Familiarity with Google Cloud's AI/ML services (Vertex AI, Cloud AI Platform)
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Google Pub/Sub
• Understanding of PostgreSQL advanced features: JSONB, full-text search, partitioning
• Experience with healthcare technology, insurance systems, or regulated industries
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data standards
• Experience with SQLAlchemy ORM and Alembic migrations
• Familiarity with Google Cloud monitoring tools (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud Trace)
