We're looking for an entrepreneurial Back-end Software Engineer for our Capital Markets department—someone who brings fresh perspectives to technical discussions and isn't afraid to ask why or suggest alternative approaches when they see opportunities for better outcomes.

What This Job Involves
You will work on JLL's commercial real estate valuation platform, contributing to the core calculation engine that powers property valuations using industry-standard methodologies.
You'll participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle—from gathering requirements to design, development, testing, and deployment. Your core work includes implementing valuation features following Clean Architecture principles, developing complex financial calculation logic (yields, cash flows, investment metrics), writing comprehensive unit tests, and optimizing performance for large property portfolios.
You'll collaborate with product managers and valuation experts to translate real estate methodologies into clean code, leverage AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity, and refactor existing applications as needed.
This role requires versatility—some days you'll focus on complex algorithms, other days you'll troubleshoot deployments, mentor teammates, or bridge gaps between technical and business stakeholders. We value engineers who embrace this variety and step up wherever the team needs them.

Education & Experience:
- Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong proficiency in developing object-oriented software applications in .NET C# (.NET 8+)
- Hands-on experience with Clean Architecture or similar architectural patterns in production codebases
- Solid experience with design patterns including Strategy, Factory, and Context patterns
- Proven experience building and maintaining REST APIs with ASP.NET Core
Technical Skills:
- Strong unit testing discipline with MSTest or xUnit and Moq
- Experience with Azure services including Blob Storage, Key Vault, and Application Insights
- Proficiency in SQL with relational database management systems
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and code quality tools
- Understanding of JSON serialization and API development
Additional Valuable Skills:
- Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., code assistants, automated testing tools) to improve development efficiency
- Knowledge/experience with parallel/concurrent programming in .NET
- Experience with Dapper library or similar
- Familiarity with commercial real estate valuation concepts or financial modeling
- Previous experience in PropTech, real estate investment software, or startup environments
