About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4 - 8+ years overall
  • Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, React (MFE), MongoDB, Kafka, EDACore Stack:
  • Design Exposure: DDD, CQRS, Axon, Rules & Workflow Engines
  • Strong handson experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Proven experience building microservicesbased architecture
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability patterns
  • Handson experience with Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms
  • Practical implementation of EventDriven Architecture (EDA)
  • Strong working experience with React
  • Handson exposure to MicroFrontend (MFE) architecture
  • Experience designing APIfirst, contractdriven backendtofrontend integrations
  • Understanding of frontend performance, versioning, and independent deployment models
  • Exposure to Drools or similar rule engines
  • Experience with workflow / process orchestration platforms such as RHPAM, Camunda, or equivalent
  • Handson experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Experience with cloudnative deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies
  • Proven experience in Agile / Scrumbased delivery
  • Lead estimation, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
  • Drive predictable delivery while maintaining engineering rigor
  • Balance shortterm delivery needs with longterm platform health

Job Expectations:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, and deliver enterprisescale, cloudnative platforms built on Java, Microservices, and EventDriven Architecture, with a modern MicroFrontend (MFE)based React UI layer.

This role requires strong system design expertise, the ability to drive technical direction, engineering rigor, and operational excellence across backend and frontend boundaries. You will work on greenfield service development, apply DomainDriven Design (DDD), and design scalable, decisioncentric and workflowdriven systems using Kafka, rules engines, workflows, and MicroFrontend architectures.

  • Enforce engineering, architectural, and coding standards
  • Drive platformlevel decisions including API contracts, event contracts, and MFE boundaries
  • Own outcomes across delivery, quality, and production stability
  • Partner closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Operations teams
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Own endtoend design and development of Javabased microservices and APIs
  • Architect eventdriven, asynchronous systems using Kafka
  • Apply DomainDriven Design (DDD) to model complex business domains
  • Design and implement CQRS / Event Sourcing patterns (Axon preferred)
  • Implement business rules and decision logic using Drools or similar rule engines
  • Design and orchestrate longrunning workflows using RHPAM or equivalent workflow platforms
  • Build scalable, secure REST and async APIs for frontend and partner integrations
  • Ensure observability, fault tolerance, and production readiness
  • Drive CI/CD automation, quality gates, and release governance
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and platform planning
  • Good to Have
  • Experience in banking / financial services or regulated environments
  • Exposure to nonfunctional requirements (performance, resilience, scalability)
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools
  • Experience on greenfield or platform modernization initiatives
