Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Software Engineer – Java Backend to design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with
Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and distributed systems.
The role also involves production ownership, incident management, system reliability, performance optimization, and collaboration with architects and cross-functional engineering teams.
Must-Have Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Java Backend Development
- Strong expertise in Java (11/17+)
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Experience with Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
- Strong understanding of Microservices architecture
- Experience developing secure and high-performance REST APIs
- Strong knowledge of System Design and distributed systems
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or other relational databases
- Good understanding of NoSQL databases
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development & Architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Develop robust and secure REST APIs and integrations
- Design and implement Microservices-based architectures
- Build event-driven solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies
- Participate in system design and architecture discussions
- Develop solutions that meet requirements for scalability, availability, performance, and security
Database & Data Solutions
- Design and optimize data solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases
- Develop efficient SQL queries and database interactions

- Optimize database and application performance
Cloud & Containerization
- Deploy and manage applications across AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Containerize applications using Docker

CI/CD & DevOps
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines

Production Support & Reliability
- Own production releases, deployment planning, validation, and rollback strategies

- Handle critical Sev1/Sev2 incidents
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews
- Drive preventive and corrective actions to improve system reliability
- Monitor application health, performance, and availability
Engineering & Collaboration
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical growth within the team
- Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders
- Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks, and architecture reviews
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, scalability, and performance optimization
