Job Description
We are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Software Engineer to lead the integration of healthcare applications and systems. You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable solutions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your expertise in FHIR and HL7 standards will be crucial in building robust healthcare platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect healthcare software solutions, focusing on interoperability and compliance.
- Implement FHIR-based data exchange and integration, ensuring secure and efficient processing.
- Develop RESTful APIs and backend services to facilitate seamless healthcare platform connectivity.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA, clinical experts, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and CCD/CDA.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and participate in continuous integration/delivery processes.
- Stay updated with the latest FHIR Implementation Guides and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their integration needs and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of software development experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in healthcare IT.
- In-depth knowledge of FHIR standards and implementation guides (Referral Management, Imaging Solutions, etc.).
- Strong hands-on experience with HL7 standards (CDA, CCD, v2.x) and FHIR certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Java, REST APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, and SMART on FHIR.
- Familiarity with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a collaborative and agile mindset.
- Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, for documentation and client interactions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
