Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer in Test on the System Test team, you will own system-level validation of Nasuni's Cloud File Data Services platform. You will design and implement automation that validates complex, distributed behaviors across services, edge appliances, cloud components, and storage protocols.

This role is not suited for candidates focused primarily on manual testing or UI-level validation.
Level & Scope Definition
You Will
- Independently own system-level test coverage for defined platform areas
- Design and implement automated integration and system validation in Python using PyTest
- Configure and manage Linux-based, distributed test environments
- Integrate automated system tests into CI/CD pipelines with reliable gating mechanisms
- Participate in design reviews to ensure system testability and resiliency

Cross-component and subsystem-level reliability across distributed cloud and storage services.

High. Expected to independently design validation approaches and drive coverage improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automated system and integration test suites
- Validate distributed behaviors across cloud, edge, and storage components
- Develop reusable test utilities and infrastructure modules
- Integrate automated validation into CI/CD workflows
- Configure and manage system test environments (Linux-based)
- Analyze logs, metrics, and cross-service interactions to identify root causes
- Validate failure scenarios, resiliency, and recovery behaviors
- Collaborate with Development, Performance, and Support teams to improve reliability
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software test automation
- 3+ years of Python development in automation or test infrastructure
- Strong experience with PyTest or comparable Python-based frameworks
- Hands-on experience validating distributed or storage-based systems
- Strong Linux proficiency
- Experience integrating system-level tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience debugging multi-component system failures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SMB, NFS, or CIFS
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience validating hybrid cloud environments
- Exposure to performance or scale testing
- Experience working with containerized environments
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience owning system-level automation strategy for enterprise platforms
- Experience designing fault-injection or resiliency validation frameworks
- Strong cross-functional collaboration in distributed teams
Experience Guidelines
- 59 years total experience in software engineering or test engineering
- At least 3 years focused on automation using Python
- Demonstrated experience working in distributed system environments
