Job Summary

  • Introduction to the Position

The Connectivity team manages the essential data pipelines underpinning our financial ecosystem. We specialize in developing resilient, secure integrations that enable millions of users to link their financial activities to our platform. Our current priority is transitioning legacy connections to the Financial Data Exchange (FDX) standard to guarantee high-fidelity data transfer and top-tier security.

We need a Senior Engineer to translate architectural strategies into high-performance execution. This role requires a Ruby on Rails specialist with a deep understanding of internet infrastructure, particularly managing OAuth at a massive scale.

Your contributions will directly enhance our data ingestion reliability. Success in this position involves engineering durable connections, producing maintainable code, and scaling API performance as our user base expands.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Direct and Implement the creation of FDX-compliant API endpoints leveraging Ruby on Rails, validating that all data clusters adhere to established industry schemas.
  • Construct and Sustain protected authentication pathways.
  • Monitor API Efficiency through Datadog analytics to guide code refinement and minimize latency during high-capacity data synchronizations.
  • Collaborate with Lead Architects to facilitate infrastructure-as-code enhancements.
  • Drive Quality Assurance by upholding a robust testing environment, guaranteeing continuous availability for essential financial integrations.
  • Guide Associate Engineers via thorough code evaluations, emphasizing API security standards and Rails Gold Stack methodologies.
  • Basic Qualifications (Must-Have)
  • More than 5 years of expertise in professional software development using Ruby on Rails within live production settings.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in API consumption, paired with a comprehensive grasp of the OAuth framework.
  • Proven track record utilizing automated testing suites and specialized API tools such as Postman.
  • Well-versed in Git/GitHub operations, spanning branch management, pull request protocols, and collaborative code reviews.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical initiatives, including the oversight of small-to-medium projects such as API version migrations or critical authentication library upgrades.
  • Highly skilled in background processing, specifically managing complex jobs for high-volume data ingestion.
  • Hands-on technical proficiency with BigQuery and PostgreSQL databases.

  • Prior involvement in deploying Open Banking or Financial Data Exchange (FDX) frameworks within a professional capacity.

Compensation

The expected earnings for this role could be comprised of a base salary and other forms of cash compensation, such as bonus or commissions as applicable.

This pay range is just one component of MX's total rewards package. MX takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location, skillset, peer compensation.
