Position: Kotlin Backend Engineer
Location: Kolkata
Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

About the Role:
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our core product team and help shape key features across our digital freight forwarding platform. You'll work with Kotlin and Spring Boot to build scalable backend services that power everything from shipment tracking to operational automation.
This is a hands-on, impact-driven role where you'll lead by example—writing clean code, driving technical decisions, and mentoring teammates. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that are robust, efficient, and user-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of complex features aligned with team and company goals
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code, setting a standard for others on the team
- Identify and drive improvements to systems, processes, and engineering practices
- Facilitate technical discussions, make informed decisions, and weigh trade-offs for scalability and performance
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineering squads to build effective, user-centered solutions
- Mentor peers through code reviews, pairing, and ongoing knowledge sharing
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with company values
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Professional experience with Kotlin (or Java with a strong willingness to work in Kotlin)
- Solid understanding of Spring Boot 3 and scalable backend architecture
- Strong grasp of RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration patterns
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases
- Familiarity with automated testing (unit, integration, E2E) and test-driven development
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, metrics, and system observability
- Able to identify and address scalability issues and technical debt
- Comfortable making and justifying technical trade-offs and design choices
- Strong communicator and collaborative problem-solver
- Experience in an agile development environment with planning and estimation
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for delivering quality software
