Senior Software Engineer ERP, EDI & Systems Integration

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in ERP systems, EDI integrations, and enterprise application development. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, managing ERP integrations, overseeing EDI transmissions, designing reports, and providing cross-departmental technical support.

The ideal candidate combines strong development skills with hands-on EDI experience and the ability to support mission-critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Integration

Develop and maintain web applications based on business requirements.

Design scalable, high-quality software architecture.

Build and maintain API integrations between ERP and third-party platforms.

Automate business processes using scripting and appropriate tools.

Import and manage product and transaction data within the ERP system.

Review, debug, test, and enhance existing internal web application code.

Document technical solutions and system processes.

ERP & Reporting

Develop and modify ERP forms and reports.

Design and maintain ERP-based and web-based reports.

Create and support management, sell-through, and month-end financial reports.

Design shipping labels, packing lists, and customer-specific documentation.

Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.

EDI Management

Monitor daily EDI inbound and outbound transmissions.

Ensure acknowledgements (997) are received and processed.

Perform EDI mapping, testing, and onboarding for new trading partners.

Maintain EDI VAN systems and resolve transmission errors.

Analyze EDI raw data to support Order Entry, Finance and AR teams.

Maintain customer catalogs and compliance requirements.

Production Support & System Monitoring

Monitor scheduled tasks and system performance.

Provide technical support to end-users across departments.

Troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.

Test and optimize system interfaces to improve performance.

Ensure reliable daily IT operations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Management teams.

Support new customer onboarding and integrations.

Participate in system upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience in software development and ERP systems.

Strong hands-on experience with EDI integrations and mapping.

Experience working in a production support environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

API Integration

ERP Systems (Exenta preferred)

EDI (850, 997, VAN systems, mapping)

Office 365 Suite (Primarily Microsoft Excel)

Preferred Experience

Experience in retail, apparel, or wholesale/distribution industries.

Experience integrating with platforms such as Shopify, JOOR, Faire, or other wholesale platform.

Strong understanding of business processes related to order management, shipping, and financial reporting.

Microsoft SQL preferred

MS Dynamics Management Reporter preferred
