Embedded Engineer
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of embedded software for medical and industrial systems
- Programming in C/C++ on microcontroller and embedded Linux platforms
- Integration of hardware and software components
- Analysis and troubleshooting of software defects
- Execution of software testing and documentation of development results
- Collaboration with systems, hardware (electronics), and quality teams
- Creation and maintenance of unit tests (including metrics)
- Creation and maintenance of automated software and device tests
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
- Experience in embedded software development using C/C++
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and/or embedded Linux
- Experience with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, or Ethernet
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good English language skills
- Knowledge of Python
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments and across locations
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., medical technology)
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and modern development processes
- Experience with Zephyr OS, which is being considered for new implementations and is becoming the ZEISS standard for embedded software
- Experience with GCC, including migration from the Keil toolchain and development for Zephyr-based systems
