Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with migrating workloads to Azure in both IaaS and PaaS environments using Azure Migrate or other tools.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting/automation tools such as AZ CLI/PowerShell, Bash, Bicep, JSON templates, Ansible, Terraform.
• Knowledge or experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins, Git, and ACR.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as DNS, load balancing, etc.
• Logical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation, and communication skills with a strong drive for results.
• Interest in Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud with a willingness to constantly learn and enhance skills in this area.
• Ability to contribute to the design of infrastructure architecture.
• Proficiency in using monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor and App Insights.
• Leadership, ownership, and a proactive attitude towards the design, development, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.

Skills and Qualifications

• Work with Engineering teams to standardize on the Monitoring logging framework. Build automation in the Science logic platform to integrate with Azure Monitor.
• Work on the cloud transformation projects across cloud engineering to provide automation and self-service.
• Drive adoption of the Kubernetes platform (on-prem) as well as Azure (AKS).
• Implement automation and self-service capabilities using CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure.
• Build Operational capabilities around the Kubernetes and Cloud platform for handing over to Operations after release.
• Document and Design controls and governance policies around container platform and automate deployments of the policies.
• Manage the end-user collaboration using village site and conduct regular sessions to educate end users on services and automation capabilities.
• Find opportunities for siloed manual tasks and build automation to remove manual work.
• Attend escalations from support teams and provide assistance during major production issues from an engineering perspective.
• Ability to understand and enhance existing deployment scripts - DevOps.
• Knowledge of security technologies like Always Encrypted - DevOps.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Nodejs, Java, Python, C#, SQL - Application.
• Linux OS proficiency, Windows OS optional – Application.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT automation with 2 years supporting Azure-based cloud automation and 2 years of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Certified in ITIL foundation with practical experience.
• Certified on Microsoft Azure cloud is essential (knowledge of cloud resource deployment principles or usage of specific cloud technologies).
