Build and optimize Nugen's Domain-Aligned AI platform that enables predictable AI reliability in industries. Design scalable backend services, mentor our growing engineering team, and drive rapid iteration in a fast-moving startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of technical architecture decisions
- Mentor junior developers and establish engineering best practices
- Design scalable microservices for AI reliability platform
- Collaborate with research scientists on production AI features
- Drive fast feature development while maintaining code quality
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years building production backend systems with Python and modern frameworks like FastAPI
- Experience leading and mentoring software engineers
- Hands-on experience with: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/Azure) and kubernetes/terraform containerization
- Startup mindset: pragmatic, bias toward action, comfortable with rapid iteration over premature optimization
- Bonus: AI/ML systems model deployment experience
- Always learn-do-learn-do mindset
- Proficiency with coding agents like cursor/claude code/etc.
