Position Overview

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Own and Evolve Core Microservices:Take charge of essential microservices that form the backbone of our data platform, working within a professional Scrum team

  • DeliverHigh-QualityCode:Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets our rigorousengineeringstandards

  • Drive Performance and Scalability:Proactivelyidentifyand resolve issues related to performance, stability, and scalability, ensuring our systems are robust andfuture-ready.

  • Champion Test Automation:Contribute to our automated testing efforts, ensuring reliability and quality at every stage

  • Collaborate Across Teams:Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and fellow developers to turn requirements intohigh-impactmicroservices that delight our customers

  • Innovate and Experiment:Research and prototypenew technologiesand patterns to keep our backend architecture at thecutting edge

  • Deliver Results:Focus on quality and customer satisfaction as you help us meet and exceed our product goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience withcommercialcloud services and application development

  • Strong grasp of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design

  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases

  • Proventrack recordbuilding andmaintaininglarge-scale microservices, with knowledge of caching (Redis preferred), distributed tracing,eventing(Kinesis preferred), and scaling techniques

  • Familiarity with UML, design patterns, distributed systems, resiliency, and security

  • Proficiencyin Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Jersey, and building RESTful web services

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including stack trace analysis, profiling, and remote debugging

  • Experience with build and CI/CD tools (Ant, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins)

  • Hands-on with unit and automation testing tools (JUnit, Cucumber, JMeter)

  • Proficiencywith Git or similar version control systems

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit

  • Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AWS cloud services such as DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, or ECS/EKS

  • Hands-on experience withevent-driven architectures, streaming platforms (Kafka/Kinesis), and asynchronous processing

  • Familiarity withcontainer orchestrationusing Kubernetes (EKS preferred)

  • Experience implementingobservability frameworks(Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)

  • Practical knowledge ofAPI security, OAuth, JWT, and secure coding practices

  • Exposure toinfrastructure-as-codetools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Experience working inhigh-availability, large-scale distributed systems

  • Prior experience inDevOps practices, build pipelines, and automated deployments

  • Knowledge ofdomain-driven design (DDD)and clean architecture principles

  • Experience with performance testing and load testing tools (Locust, Gatling, or JMeter)

  • Open-source contributions or public GitHub/portfolio showcasing backend or microservices work

  • Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field (optional but a plus)
