What you will work on

You will design and build modern enterprise applications and integrations while adopting emerging AI-native software engineering practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, testing and delivering production-grade applications and services.
  • Building solutions primarily using Java, Spring Boot and modern cloud-native technologies.
  • Designing APIs, microservices, integrations, event-driven workflows and scalable application components.
  • Making sound architectural decisions around scalability, security, modularity, maintainability, performance and observability.
  • Translating business requirements into clear technical specifications before implementation.
  • Applying specification-driven development using approaches such as GitHub Spec Kit, BMAD or comparable methodologies.
  • Using AI coding assistants and engineering agents for planning, implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation and code review.
  • Working with tools and environments such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or comparable agentic development platforms.
  • Reviewing AI-generated code critically and ensuring that architecture, security, maintainability and correctness remain under engineering control.
  • Integrating applications with cloud platforms, SaaS applications, enterprise systems and third-party APIs.
  • Participating in solution architecture and technical design discussions.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and international customer stakeholders.

What we are looking for

Essential experience

  • 4+ years of hands-on professional software development experience.
  • Strong practical expertise in at least one modern enterprise development stack.
  • Java and Spring Boot experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building backend systems, APIs, microservices and/or distributed applications.
  • Good understanding of cloud-native application development.
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD, automated testing and modern software delivery practices.
  • Good understanding of software architecture and the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs.
  • Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills, particularly for collaborating with international teams and clients.
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for software quality.

Agentic engineering mindset

We are especially interested in developers who understand that AI-assisted development is more than asking an AI tool to generate code.

You should be comfortable with—or genuinely interested in mastering—a development workflow where you:

Understand → Specify → Design → Delegate → Generate → Review → Test → Validate → Improve

This may include:

  • Breaking requirements into structured specifications.
  • Creating implementation plans before coding.
  • Delegating suitable development tasks to AI agents.
  • Using multiple agents or tools for implementation, testing and review.
  • Maintaining context and architectural consistency across larger development tasks.
  • Reviewing generated solutions rather than accepting them blindly.
  • Using automated tests, static analysis and engineering judgment to validate AI-produced output.
  • Continuously refining prompts, specifications and agent workflows to improve development velocity.

Experience with GitHub Spec Kit, BMAD or similar specification-driven and agentic methodologies is an advantage, but we do not require experience with any single framework.

Likewise, experience with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar environments is valuable, but we are more interested in how you use AI to engineer software than which particular tool you use.

Additional advantages

Experience in any of the following areas will strengthen your application:

  • Production use of AI coding assistants or autonomous development agents.
  • Delivery of AI, GenAI or agentic solutions for real business use cases.
  • Designing agent workflows or multi-agent software solutions.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Event-driven architecture and messaging technologies.
  • Integration with multiple SaaS, cloud or enterprise platforms.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps automation.
  • API design and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Application, solution or integration architecture.
  • Security and observability in distributed systems.
  • Experience working directly with international customers.
  • Knowledge of the German language.

Candidates currently residing in Kolkata or the surrounding region are preferred.

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is:

₹8–25 Lakhs CTC per annum

The range reflects the breadth of profiles we are willing to consider.

Candidates demonstrating exceptional strength in architecture, cloud engineering, enterprise integration or AI-native software development may be positioned towards the higher end of the range.
