Role Overview
SDET III will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions for the company's software products. This role requires strong expertise in automation framework design across web, mobile, and API layers, close collaboration with development and product teams, and ownership of quality outcomes. The role also includes technical mentoring and leadership of junior SDET and QA engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and backend systems
- Build automated test solutions for applications, services, APIs, and databases
- Work closely with Development and Product teams to ensure high-quality feature delivery
- Drive Shift-Left testing practices and early quality validation
- Lead, mentor, and guide junior SDETs and QA engineers
- Review automation architecture and improve test stability, reliability, and coverage
- Own automation strategy, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives
Mandatory Skill Sets
- 6+ years of experience in test automation for web, mobile, and backend applications
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript (MUST HAVE)
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium (Java) for web automation
- Strong hands-on experience with Appium (Java) for mobile automation
- Proven expertise in automation framework design and development
- Good understanding of test automation design patterns and best practices
- Hands-on experience writing reusable utilities, libraries, and helpers
- Strong experience with BDD-based frameworks using Java
- Experience in API and microservices testing using Rest Assured or Karate
- Strong proficiency in Java with solid understanding of OOP concepts
- Experience in leading and mentoring QA/SDET teams
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with QA, Dev, and Product stakeholders
Good to Have
- Experience in performance testing using JMeter or similar tools
- Experience with mocking frameworks like WireMock or Mockito
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
