About the Role

The SDE-3 role sits at the core of the autonomous cooking stack, spanning the Recipe Engine and the cloud infrastructure that powers autonomous preparation across thousands of recipes.

Responsibilities

Design & Implementation

• Architect and implement complex features across autonomy, data logging, and reliability, producing both HLDs and LLDs
• Build and own the core Recipe Engine stack that powers the robot's autonomous cooking functions AI Systems
• Build agentic systems powering internal workflows around recipe creation, feedback analysis, and coding assistance
• Develop the code-intelligence backbone for internal agents: AST chunking, LLM graph extraction, and hybrid retrieval (BM25 + graph + rerank) over the codebase via Cognee
• Drive retrieval accuracy through chunking strategy, embedding quality, and benchmark-driven, eval-first approach

What We Are Looking For

• Strong command of HLDs, LLDs, and SOLID design principles
• Proven track record shipping production LLM and agent systems, including RAG pipelines, retrieval architectures, and agent loops (MCP, tool-calling) — not just API wrappers
• Deep fluency in the retrieval data layer: vector and graph databases, chunking, embeddings, and hybrid retrieval, with the understanding that ingestion and chunking quality is the primary lever for accuracy

Few engineering roles operate at this intersection of robotics, autonomy, and AI. Building a fully autonomous cooking system requires first-principles thinking and ground-up architecture.
