Role Summary
This role represents for highly skilled test engineers who can lead automation strategy, drive quality at scale, and influence technical and business stakeholders. The role requires strong hands-on expertise along with ownership, mentoring, and architectural decision-making capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable test automation frameworks across UI, API, and backend layers.
- Drive automation strategy for complex distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Act as a quality advocate within agile teams, influencing architecture, design, and delivery decisions.
- Collaborate with junior SDETs and engineers on best practices, tools, and frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure quality from design to production.
- Own automation pipelines, quality metrics, and test data strategy across environments.
- Proactively identify risks, gaps, and quality issues and drive resolution across teams.
- Support non-functional testing strategies including performance, reliability, security, and resiliency testing.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- 4 to 7 years of experience in Information Technology with deep expertise in test automation across UI and API layers.
- Strong hands-on programming experience using Java (preferred), Python, or JavaScript with solid understanding of OOP and design principles.
- Extensive experience with Selenium, RestAPI, Manual testing and knowledge on Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar modern microservices frameworks.
- Proven experience building and scaling automation frameworks from the ground up using modular architecture and design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM).
- Advanced experience automating REST APIs using REST Assured, Postman, Cypress, ReadyAPI, or similar tools.
- Strong working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB).
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
- Ability to independently design, create, and maintain automation jobs and quality gates in CI pipelines.
- Strong experience with source control tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or AWS CodeCommit.
- Hands-on experience generating and analyzing automation reports using tools such as Cucumber Reports, Extent Reports, or custom dashboards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, CloudWatch, CodePipeline, CloudFormation, and Elastic Beanstalk.
- Airline domain experience is a plus.
- Experience with service virtualization and mocking frameworks such as WireMock and Mockito.
- Experience with TDD and BDD methodologies using Gherkin syntax.
- Familiarity with test management and agile tools such as qTest, VersionOne, Jira, or similar.
- Experience working with containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
- Experience executing and supporting non-functional testing including performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, and usability testing.
