Senior Software Developer

Role Type: Desktop application / backend systems development

Tech Stack: Rust, Tauri, React integration, optional C/C++

Role Overview

The application will run on laptops/tablets and will be packaged as an installable desktop application using Rust + Tauri, with React on the frontend.

We are looking for Rust developers who can work fast, write clean systems-level code, and contribute to drone communication, telemetry, video, mission control, and multi-drone workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. ● Build the Rust backend for a Tauri desktop application
2. ● Develop offline-first application logic for field use with no internet dependency
3. ● Implement drone telemetry parsing and data handling
4. ● Build algorithms for radar queue / drone queue handling
5. ● Work on video streaming from drones into the ground control system
6. ● Support logistics mission modes, including:
7. ▪ Long-range drone missions
8. ▪ One drone acting as relay
9. ▪ One drone acting as load carrier
10. ● Support swarm drone operations, including:
11. ▪ Multiple drones spraying pesticides
12. ▪ Multi-drone telemetry monitoring
13. ▪ Visualization and control of multiple drones from one ground control system
14. ● Integrate Rust backend services with the React frontend through Tauri commands/events.
15. ● Work with hardware-facing protocols, drone data streams, and real-time system constraints
16. ● Write reliable, maintainable, and testable Rust code.
17. ● Contribute to a high-speed development process with frequent iteration.

Required Skills

1. ● Strong hands-on experience with Rust
2. ● Experience building desktop applications or system-level applications
3. ● Understanding of asynchronous programming in Rust
4. ● Experience with data parsing, binary protocols, streaming data, or telemetry systems
5. ● Ability to write clean APIs between backend and frontend layers
6. ● Good debugging and performance optimization skills
7. ● Comfortable working in a fast-moving product development environment

Minimum Experience

1. ● Rust: Minimum 3 years
2. ● Overall software development: Minimum 4 years
3. ● Desktop/system/backend development: Minimum 2 years

Good to Have

1. ● Experience with Tauri
2. ● Experience with drone systems, robotics, IoT, embedded systems, or ground control software
3. ● Experience with video streaming protocols
4. ● Familiarity with C or C++ for low-level integrations
5. ● Experience with offline-first applications
6. ● Knowledge of GIS, maps, mission planning, or real-time visualization systems
