Senior Software Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering

• Gather business needs through discussions with users and create Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
• Study system flows, analyze data usage, and perform impact analysis to define feasibility of operations.
• Define and describe technical solutions, create flowcharts, and review solutions with business users.

Technical Design & Documentation

• Create Low-Level Technical Design Documents (LLD) based on technologies used (Unix, Teradata, PowerShell).
• Ensure technical team understands the proposed solution and workflows.

ETL Development & Implementation

• Build and unit test code using Unix scripts, PowerShell scripts, and utilities like BTEQ, MLOAD, TPT, Fast Export.
• Create workflows and sessions, define mapping parameters, variables, and session parameters according to ETL development standards.
• Extract data from existing source systems, transform it to institutional standards, and load it into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Research Depot environment.

Collaboration & Supervision

• Work under supervision and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel or relocate to unanticipated client sites within the USA as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Masters degree in Computer Science / IT / IS / Engineering (or related field) with 6 months of relevant experience OR
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science / IT / IS / Engineering (or related field) with 5 years of progressive work experience in a related field.
• Experience with ETL tools and Teradata is required.
