Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions on the
Snowflake Data Cloud platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in
Snowflake architecture, data modeling, and ELT pipeline development, enabling high-performance analytics and enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science or in similar quantitative area (B. Tech/B.E. or M. Tech/M.E. in Computers, IT)
- 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience as a Snowflake Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Design and implement scalable data architectures and pipelines within Snowflake.
- Develop and manage Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, and data marts following best practices.
- Build and optimize ELT pipelines leveraging Snowflake features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Time Travel.
- Develop complex SQL transformations, stored procedures, and Snowflake tasks to automate data workflows.
- Implement high-performance data ingestion frameworks into Snowflake for batch and near real-time data processing.
- Design and maintain enterprise data models in Snowflake, including dimensional models and data marts.
- Optimize Snowflake query performance, warehouse usage, clustering, and cost efficiency.
- Manage and monitor Snowflake workloads, resource monitors, and compute warehouses.
- Implement data governance, security, masking policies, RBAC, and access controls within Snowflake.
- Integrate Snowflake with external data sources, APIs, and cloud storage (S3, ADLS, GCS).
- Support analytics teams by building curated data layers in Snowflake for BI and reporting tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Snowflake performance, ingestion, and pipeline issues.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud development and architecture.
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake features such as: Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Time Travel & Fail-safe, Zero-copy cloning, Secure data sharing and External tables
- Advanced SQL programming and performance tuning in Snowflake.
- Experience building ETL pipelines centered around Snowflake.
- Experience with Python for data processing and Snowflake integrations.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data lakehouse architectures.
- Experience integrating Snowflake with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
Good to Have
- Experience with Snowflake Snowpark or Snowflake Native Apps.
- Familiarity with Spark, Databricks, or modern data engineering frameworks.
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience supporting analytics and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker using Snowflake.
- Experience working in SaaS or retail analytics environments.
