Job Description

What Will I be doing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional Application teams to develop use cases into high-quality solutions. Take ownership and accountability for individual deliverables.
  • Contribute in the of adoption of DevOps as well as DevOps architecture and design for various services in the organization.
  • Self-starter with zeal to own things from Start to End with little oversight.
  • Define SLA/SLO/SLIs for application components and drive their adoption.
  • Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
  • Fully and completely understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.
  • Strong Team Player who assists in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals on advanced technical issues.
  • Keep abreast of technologies that help solve availability, scalability of distributed infrastructure in a low latency, high traffic setup.
  • Serve as SME for Reliability trends, and architectural concepts.
  • Advise on implementing Cloud best practices and provide architectural governance.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of how SaaS products operate end-to-end and be able to troubleshoot, analyze, and explain complex system behaviors across various layers including infrastructure, application, and user-facing components.

What Skills do I need

  • 4+ years of overall experience in any discipline of Software Engineering with solid exposure to DevOps/Reliability Engineering domain
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (New Relic, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of APM, log aggregation, distributed tracing, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Experience with public cloud (preferably AWS or Azure)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using Terraform, Cloud Formation or other tools.
  • Experience with Configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
  • Experience with Cloud Security Principles.
  • Solid experience in programming language such as Python or similar object-oriented language and scripting languages.
  • Experience with automating cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.
  • Experience with cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, such as CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, Jenkins and/or GitLab.
  • Experience with microservices and distributed applications and serverless computing capabilities.
  • Experience in debugging Windows and Linux OS.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.
