Owning quality assurance across the prAna direct-to-consumer Shopify storefront, retail POS environment, and integration layer as part of a high-output team within Columbia Sportswear's technology organization. This role works closely with a Pacific US-based team to ensure every release meets a high bar for functionality, performance, and visual quality across the full platform stack.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Design, build, and maintain test plans and test cases across the Shopify storefront, POS, and middleware integrations
- Execute manual and automated testing for new features, theme updates, and production releases
- Validate end-to-end order flows including checkout, payment processing, fulfillment, and returns across storefront and POS channels
- Test integration points between Shopify and external systems (ERP, OMS, marketing platforms, analytics)
- Perform cross-browser, cross-device, and responsive testing to ensure a consistent customer experience
- Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and severity classification
- Partner with the development team to define acceptance criteria and ensure testability of new work
- Build and maintain automated regression suites to accelerate release cycles
- Monitor post-release quality and flag production issues proactively
YOU ARE
- Experience with Shopify Functions, Shopify Flow, and webhook-based event testing
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (Lighthouse, WebPageTest, k6)
- Experience with accessibility testing (WCAG compliance)
- Experience supporting brands in the outdoor, apparel, or lifestyle space
- Experience working on US-based teams across time zones
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing or development tools
- Strong written English communication skills
- Comfortable working independently from a ticket queue with minimal synchronous oversight
- Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Availability for 3-4 hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time (PT)
- GitHub profile or portfolio showcasing QA tooling, test frameworks, or automation work is required
YOU HAVE
- 5+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years testing e-commerce platforms (Shopify Plus preferred)
- Hands-on experience testing Shopify storefronts, Shopify POS, and third-party app integrations
- Strong experience with test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium)
- Ability to read and understand Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript well enough to isolate and communicate issues to developers
- Experience testing APIs (REST, GraphQL) and validating integration workflows
