Role Description The Senior Shopify Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Shopify-based e-commerce websites for clients, with a focus on performance, usability, and conversion. Day-to-day work includes building custom themes, implementing and optimizing Shopify apps, integrating third-party services, and troubleshooting technical issues across front-end and back-end components. The role involves collaborating closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to define requirements, estimate effort, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. The Senior Shopify Developer will also provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and help establish best practices for Shopify development within the team. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram.
Qualifications
- Strong Shopify development skills, including custom theme creation, Liquid templates, and Shopify APIs.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks relevant to Shopify customization.
- Experience integrating payment gateways, third-party apps, and RESTful APIs within Shopify environments.
- Background in e-commerce optimization, including performance tuning, SEO best practices, and conversion-focused UX.
- Ability to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and document implementation details clearly.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to debug complex issues across the stack.
- Comfort mentoring junior developers, reviewing code, and contributing to development standards and processes.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience in an agency or product-focused environment, especially working with startups, is a plus.
