Role: ServiceNow Developer

  • Location: Bengaluru & Hyderabad, the 2nd Interview round will be face 2 face.
  • Summary:

    The Senior ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for administration and configuration of multiple platform modules, as well as development and maintenance of custom applications across the enterprise platform. The candidate will work with various internal stakeholders and external partners to collaboratively develop requirements for maintenance and growth activities. The candidate is expected to obtain and maintain relevant certifications, and to continuously expand knowledge and skills regarding platform administration.

    The incumbent will need to balance demands, prioritize efforts, clearly set expectations, and communicate effectively; will work with other enterprise technologies to help configure and maintain integrations. The role will be expected to be current on the latest related thought leadership around leveraging the platform and participate in the development of new business cases related to expanding its impact at Elara Caring. A collaborative teamwork-driven individual with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills will excel in this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Core ServiceNow Technical Skills

    Deep knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, tables, relationships, and major modules (Custom app development)

    Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (server-side and client-side), Glide APIs, and ServiceNow scripting including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and UI Actions

    Strong understanding and development skills in Service Portal (AngularJS, Now Experience UI Builder, Widgets, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3)

    Experience designing and optimizing workflows, Flow Designer actions, and integrations (REST, SOAP, web services)

    Service Catalog, Request Management, and custom catalog items creation and widget development

    Core knowledge of ServiceNow virtual assistant configuration

    Experience with ServiceNow AI features (GenAi, Now Assist skill kit, AI Search, Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence) for automating tasks and building AI-powered workflows

    Service Portal & Frontend Development

    Widget creation and customization using AngularJS, ServiceNow APIs, and HTML/CSS.

    Exposure to ServiceNow Mobile App Builder [Mobile agent, Now Mobile etc.]

    UI policies, client scripts, and dynamic page building for Service Portals.

    SEO optimization, page navigation, responsive design, and accessibility best practices.

    Performance analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting complex portal UIs

    Integration & Automation

    Designing and implementing REST/SOAP integrations, including third-party API calls and authentication flows (OAuth, SSO).

    Build integration using ServiceNow Workflow data fabric [zero copy connectors, integration hub, stream connect, external content connectors]

    Building ETL, MID Server, and external data synchronization solutions for ServiceNow.

    Scripted automation via Flow Designer, Orchestration, and Integration Hub

    Platform & Process Skills

    Managing ACLs, RBAC, and security best practices in ServiceNow and Service Portal.

    System administration, upgrade/migration management, and update set handling.

    Qualifications:

    Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in IT/ Computer Science.

    5-7 years of ServiceNow development experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular JS and ServiceNow's Glide API

    Mandatory Service Portal experience.

    Skills & Certifications:

    ServiceNow Certified Application Developer required (current version)

    One or more ServiceNow Micro-Certifications required

    Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

    Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools

    Strong understanding of the Now platform including, ITSM, Angular, and OOP is critical. Service Portal experience is mandatory.

    Any API integration work with third party tool and Service Now is preferred.

    Work experience in agile methodology is a strongly preferred.

    Overall pace of work - fast-paced and deadline oriented. Collaboration with stakeholders outside of the development team is critical.

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
