Role: Senior Service Delivery Manager

Base Location: Pune

Region: Japan

Bilingual Capabilities:

First preference: BIG PLUS for the candidates with prior experience working with Japan with a good understanding of Japanese Business Culture and Japanese way of working.

Preferred Japanese Level: N2/N3 with good spoken Japanese skills and should be able to write e-mails in Japanese and read Technical documents. 

Reporting Line: Director and/or Head of Delivery Unit in a matrix organization structure.

Span of Control: Should be able to manage a team of 100-120 associates including Project Managers, Technical Architects, Leads and Team members.

Job Description:

  1. Minimum of 15+ years of total experience in IT. Onsite experience working in Japan would be a PLUS
  2. Engineering/computer science background with minimum 8-10 years of experience managing mid-large scale projects in a multi-cultural/multi-national environment.
  3. Understanding of Japanese business culture.
  4. Good negotiation skills. Proven track record to handle pressure and delivery based on the priority.
  5. Solid communication skills in English (and Japanese preferred) and ability to influence stakeholders at various levels including VPs and Unit Heads
  6. Ability to deliver under pressure in spite of multiple challenges.
  7. Go getter type of manager
  8. Good Team player with proven collaboration skills. Strike out the balance between assertiveness and aggressiveness based on the situation.
  9. Must have a technical background of application development in OOPs (Java, .NET)/COBOL/Other programming languages. Working knowledge of Windows/UNIX/LINUX. Passionate to learn new technologies around AI and ML.
  10. Good understanding of Japanese quality standards and expectations of Team Productivity
  11. Must have a good understanding of Financial Reporting, Contract Margins/Gross Margin calculations
  12. Planning and executing the recruitment to build teams from scratch.
  13. Escalation handling and controlling the things to keep the impact to a minimal damage level.
  14. Good understanding of Attrition Risk Planning, Appraisals, Bell Curve etc.
