The Position

Senior Security Engineer (Seamless Access) - RDT Security Platforms

Location: Pune

Our Secure Access team protects the organization's global workforce by delivering and operating the technologies that enable secure, reliable, and compliant access to corporate resources. We work at the intersection of network security, identity, and cloud-supporting users and business-critical systems in a regulated industry environment. As part of Roche Digital Technology (RDT), we provide the hands-on engineering, configuration management, and automation support required to keep access controls robust, auditable, and scalable.

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will design, implement, and operate the technologies that underpin our organization's remote access, web security, and network protection capabilities. You will be a hands-on contributor, acting as a trusted advisor across distributed teams to drive improvements independently. In this role, you will navigate the complexities of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure to ensure our security solutions meet strict regulatory requirements while maintaining a highly responsive service delivery ethic.

The Opportunity

• Engineer Zero Trust Solutions: Design and operate Cloudflare-based web security and Zero Trust access solutions to protect global corporate resources.

• Manage VPN Infrastructure: Administer and support Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN infrastructure, including complex policy management and lifecycle operations.

• Automate Security Workflows: Build and maintain automation pipelines to reduce manual toil and ensure consistency across all security configurations.

• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code: Lead the management of security infrastructure using Terraform and maintain version-controlled configurations within GitHub.

• Ensure Operational Compliance: Own configuration management processes in ServiceNow, ensuring accurate CMDB records and strict change management adherence.

• Solve Complex Security Incidents: Independently lead the analysis of cybersecurity incidents, defining problem scopes and driving root cause analysis for vulnerabilities.

• Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with network, identity, and cloud teams to deliver integrated capabilities that support a global, regulated workforce.

• Mentor and Standardize: Provide technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to the development of enterprise-wide security best practices.

Who you are

• Experienced Security Engineer: You bring 5-7 years of hands-on technical experience in security engineering, specifically focused on network security and secure access.

• Cloudflare & VPN Expert: You possess demonstrated experience with Cloudflare (Access, Gateway, WAF) and Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN deployment and troubleshooting.

• Infrastructure-as-Code Proficient: You are highly proficient with Terraform and GitHub for version control, collaboration, and automated deployments.

• Regulated Industry Veteran: You have a proven track record working in healthcare, pharma, or finance, with a deep understanding of compliance and audit requirements.

• Educated Professional: You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• Automation Mindset: You are skilled in building automation (scripts, workflows, or CI/CD pipelines) to support and scale global security operations.

• Strategic Problem Solver: You are a self-motivated leader capable of owning work end-to-end, defining security scopes, and managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
