Job Description

Total Experience: 5 to 12 Years

Location: Pune, Maharashtra.

Work Model: Remote (Candidates must currently reside in Pune and be available to come to the office 2-3 days a month)

Shift Timing: 3.00 PM to 12.00 PM IST

Mandatory Skills: Automation testing with Playwright or Cypress or Selenium and strong programming skills in Java or Python or JavaScript

About the Role: Were looking for a high-performing SDET Engineer who brings a deep understanding of testing beyond just the acceptance criteria. This role demands strong analytical thinking, an eye for edge cases, and hands-on experience in building scalable test automation frameworks.

Youll work closely with product managers, developers, and QA engineers to ensure high-quality, reliable, and resilient product releases. If youre someone who challenges requirements, identifies gaps early, and takes ownership of quality end-to-end this is the right opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria to design comprehensive test scenarios covering functional, non-functional, edge, and integration cases.
  • Identify gaps and ambiguities in requirements and proactively collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing.
  • Implement shift-left testing practices and ensure quality early in the development cycle.
  • Execute smoke, regression, functional, and exploratory testing with a break the system mindset.
  • Collaborate with Dev and DevOps teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive test strategy discussions, contribute to quality standards, and mentor junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing with a strong SDET / Automation background.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one modern automation framework (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Rest Assured, etc.).
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Proven ability to write test scenarios beyond acceptance criteria including edge cases, negative flows, and integration points.
  • Good understanding of API testing, microservices architecture, and backend systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Familiarity with performance and security testing concepts is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
