About The Role
We are looking for a Senior SDET with a strong engineering mindset to
build next-generation quality platforms and test AI-powered applications. This role goes beyond traditional automationyou will work at the intersection of backend systems, AI-driven testing, and intelligent QA tooling, helping define how quality engineering evolves in an AI-first world.
What You Will Do
Core Engineering & Testing
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable automation frameworks for API and backend systems.
- Own end-to-end test strategy across functional, system, and integration layers.
- Build robust API automation suites using Java (Rest Assured/Karate) and modern tooling.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps in an agile environment to ensure high-quality releases.
AI-Enabled Testing & Innovation (Key Differentiator)
- Design and validate AI-generated test cases for APIs, including authentication flows, request chaining, and error handling.
- Build and maintain QA agentic systems that can auto-generate test cases from requirements, detect coverage gaps across services, suggest missing edge cases and negative scenarios
- Test AI-based applications (LLMs, copilots, intelligent services) for correctness and hallucination risks, robustness across edge cases
- Define strategies for testing non-deterministic systems, including: prompt evaluation frameworks, response validation heuristics, dataset-driven testing
Quality Intelligence & Platform Thinking
- Build tools that provide real-time visibility into test coverage, risk areas, and defect patterns.
- Leverage AI/ML techniques for defect clustering and root cause analysis, test optimization and prioritization
- Contribute to internal QA platforms (e.g., API coverage mapping, intelligent test generation systems).
Performance & Observability
- Design and execute performance and reliability tests for backend systems.
- Analyze logs, metrics, and traces using tools like Grafana, Kibana, or similar.
- Ensure systems meet non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as scalability, latency, and resilience.
What You Must Have
- 58 years of experience in API testing and automation
- Strong programming skills in Java (preferred) or Python/Golang
- Hands-on experience with API automation frameworks such as Rest Assured, Karate, or similar
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture , request/response validation, authentication flows
- Experience in test planning, strategy, and execution across system layers
- Experience analyzing logs, debugging failures, and working with stakeholders to drive resolution
- Practical exposure to using AI tools for test generation, with ability to refine and productionize outputs
Good To Have (High Impact Skills)
AI & Modern QA
- Experience testing AI/LLM-based applications
- Understanding of prompt engineering, evaluation of AI responses, hallucination detection strategies
- Experience building or experimenting with agentic workflows or AI-driven tools
Systems & Backend Expertise
- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, etc.)
Advanced Testing Areas
- Performance testing using tools like k6, Gatling, JMeter
- Security testing fundamentals (auth, vulnerabilities, API security)
- Experience working with Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting
Mobile / Network Debugging (Optional but Valuable)
- Experience with tools like Android Studio, Xcode, Charles Proxy, Fiddler, ADB
What Makes This Role Exciting
- Opportunity to work on AI-first quality engineering problems
- Build intelligent QA systems and agents, not just test cases
- Influence how automation evolves in an AI-driven engineering landscape
- Work on complex distributed systems and high-scale APIs
- High visibility and impact across engineering teams
Ideal Candidate Mindset
- Thinks beyond test cases - thinks in systems and coverage
- Curious about AI and its impact on software quality engineering
- Enjoys building tools that other engineers rely on
- Balances engineering depth with product thinking
This is not a traditional SDET roleyou will help build the future of AI-powered Quality Engineering.
