Job Description
Senior Scrum Master
Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP)
About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Scrum Master who's ready to grow past a single team and into coaching and leading across multiple teams. EDP owns the data, analytics, AI, and cloud platforms the rest of the company builds on, and the Scrum Master plays a critical role in delivering them.
It isn't a textbook Scrum job. These teams run what they build, so sprint work competes with production support. Much of it also depends on source systems and consumers the team doesn't control. If making delivery predictable in that environment sounds like your kind of problem, you'll do well here.
You'll partner with product, engineering, architecture, and business leaders on work across Azure, AWS, and Databricks, from analytics and AI enablement to platform modernization. The team spans the US, Costa Rica, Spain, and India.
Your first year
The first twelve months are mostly about learning the team and how Bridgestone works. Expect to:
EDP is growing fast, and we expect that growth to open up bigger opportunities in coaching and multi-team leadership. The path isn't pre-built, and we won't promise a title on a timeline. What you will get is steady exposure to work across the train. When those opportunities come, the people already doing pieces of that work will be well placed for them.
Key responsibilities
Team coaching and facilitation

Your first year
The first twelve months are mostly about learning the team and how Bridgestone works. Expect to:

- Learn how Bridgestone runs SAFe, from PI Planning to how work moves through Azure DevOps.
- Build relationships across a global team and with the business leaders EDP serves.
- Work alongside the Agile Release Train's leaders at PI Planning and Inspect and Adapt, and co-facilitate at least one ART event by year end.

Key responsibilities

- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more EDP teams, from daily standups through PI Planning.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and customer-focused delivery, where teams own their commitments and raise problems early.
- Remove impediments and spot risks before they turn into missed commitments.
- Partner with Product Owners and Product Managers to keep backlogs healthy and prioritized against business objectives.
- Protect capacity for enabler work and production support so feature commitments stay realistic.
- Track progress against sprint goals and PI objectives, and flag slippage early enough to act on it.
- Drive cross-team coordination and Scrum-of-Scrums, keeping dependencies and risks visible.
- Coach Product Owners on backlog health, feature writing, and prioritization.
- Support the ART's leaders with PI Planning preparation, ART syncs, and Inspect and Adapt.
- Share practices with other EDP Scrum Masters, and help managers and stakeholders work well with Agile teams.
- Be a trusted advisor to product, engineering, and business leaders, with a straight read on delivery.
- Use Agile health and flow metrics in Azure DevOps to improve predictability and quality.
- Run root cause analysis, close out retro actions, and automate delivery work where it pays off.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years as a Scrum Master supporting software, data engineering, cloud platform, or analytics teams.
- Experience in a SAFe environment, including PI Planning.
- Experience coaching beyond one team: multiple teams, POs, other Scrum Masters, or leaders.
- Proven experience managing dependencies across multiple teams.
- Strong grounding in Scrum, Kanban, and Lean, with excellent facilitation and communication skills.
- Certifications such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Release Train Engineer, or ICAgile Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC).
- Experience facilitating ART events or backing up a Release Train Engineer.
- A measurable before-and-after improvement in predictability, flow, or quality that you helped a team deliver.
- Experience with Databricks, Azure, AWS, BI, AI and machine learning, or DevOps.
- Location, work model, reporting line, travel, and pay range: [HR to confirm]
- Time zones: Expect some early or late calls to overlap with teammates in Spain and India
