Senior Scala (Apache Spark) Developer at BairesDev

We are seeking a Senior Scala (Apache Spark) Developer to lead complex Spark implementations and mentor team members. You'll design and optimize data-intensive applications, implement advanced transformations, and contribute to Spark's evolution.

What You'll Do:

- Contribute actively to Apache Spark and related open source projects as a core contributor.

- Lead development of distributed data applications using Scala and Spark APIs.

- Implement advanced Dataset and typed transformations with Scala's functional features.

- Drive performance tuning and memory optimization in Spark applications.

- Mentor junior developers and review Scala/Spark code for best practices.

What we are looking for:

- 10+ years of experience in software development.

- Strong expertise in Scala, functional programming, and JVM optimization.

- Deep understanding of Spark internals, Catalyst optimizer, and Tungsten execution engine.

- Experience in building large-scale, fault-tolerant Spark pipelines.

- Proven track record of contributions to Spark or other Apache projects.

- Advanced level of English.
