Position Overview

A senior, hands-on role driving end-to-end SAP Finance implementations and AMS support. The ideal candidate brings deep SAP FICO expertise across GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Project Systems (including WBS/WBSE), complemented by strong SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting consolidation skills and a solid grasp of IFRS/US GAAP close processes.

Key Responsibilities

SAP FICO – Core Finance & Controlling (Primary Focus 70%)

•   Configure and support core FI modules: GL (New GL, parallel ledgers, document splitting), AP, AR, Bank Accounting, and Fixed Assets (FI-AA) within S/4HANA, including depreciation areas, asset classes, and asset lifecycle management.

•   Lead Project Systems (PS) configuration: WBS Elements (WBSE), Networks, Project Profiles, settlement rules, and integration with FI/CO for capital and operational project accounting.

•   Configure and maintain Controlling modules: CO-CCA (Cost Centre Accounting), CO-PCA (Profit Centre Accounting), CO-PA (Profitability Analysis), Internal Orders, and Product Costing (CO-PC).

•   Manage period-end and year-end close activities: accruals, provisions, FX valuation, depreciation runs, settlement cycles, allocations, and intercompany postings aligned with IFRS/US GAAP.

•   Ensure seamless cross-module integration with MM (P2P), SD (O2C), and PP; validate end-to-end process flows and data consistency including IDocs and interface management.

•   Handle Indian statutory requirements: GST configuration, CIN, TDS/TCS, and multi-country tax processes.

•   Develop functional specifications for RICEFW objects; collaborate with ABAP teams on enhancements, LSMW/data migration, Report Painter, and user-exit solutions.

•   Support data migration activities for master data and transactional data conversions; validate migrated data integrity.

•   Lead fit-to-standard workshops, SIT/UAT cycles, cutover planning, go-live, and hypercare for FICO scope; manage stakeholder sign-offs (SAP Activate methodology).

•   Provide AMS support for critical FI/CO issues; conduct system audits, identify gaps, and recommend continuous improvements.

SAP Group Reporting & Consolidation (Secondary Focus 30%)

•   Configure and maintain SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting: FS Items, Breakdown Categories, Consolidation Units/Groups, Currency Translation methods, Intercompany Eliminations, and Consolidation of Investments.

•   Manage data integration from SAP FI ledgers (Universal Journal/ACDOCA) and non-SAP entities into the consolidation layer; maintain data mapping, validation rules, and substitution logic.

•   Execute the full consolidation cycle: data collection, average/closing/historical currency translation, IC reconciliation, elimination postings, and consolidated P&L/Balance Sheet reporting.

•   Build and maintain consolidated financial outputs via SAP Analysis for Office (AFO) and Group Data Analysis (GDA); support SAP Fiori-based Group Reporting apps.

•   Drive month-end and year-end consolidation close; implement controls and automations to reduce close timelines and ensure SOX/ICFR compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

•   8–12 years of hands-on SAP FICO and GR consulting experience; minimum 2–3 full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementations.

•   Strong expertise in FI-AA (Asset Accounting): asset classes, depreciation methods, AuC, asset transfers, retirement, and year-end close.

•   Deep knowledge of New GL, parallel ledgers, document splitting, universal journal (ACDOCA), and period-end close processes.

•   Hands-on experience with CO-CCA, CO-PCA, CO-PA, Internal Orders.

•   3+ years of SAP Group Reporting configuration experience: FS Items, Consolidation Units, IC Eliminations, Currency Translation, and data collection via ACDOCA/API uploads.

•   Solid understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP: eliminations, minority interest, goodwill, and currency translation adjustments.

•   Cross-module integration expertise: FI-MM, FI-SD, FI-PS; IDocs, LSMW, and data migration experience mandatory.

Preferred

•   Prior SAP BPC consolidation experience and BPC-to-Group Reporting migration.

•   Exposure to SAP Treasury/TRM, CFIN (Central Finance), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or SAP RAR (IFRS 15).

•   Experience with SAP Public Cloud (BTP-based) or S/4HANA Cloud deployments.

•   Domain background in Finance/Accounting (2–3 years); professional certification (CA, CPA, CIMA, ICWA) is a plus.

Education & Certifications

Education

Master's in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, IT, or Engineering preferred; Bachelor's with equivalent experience considered.

SAP Certification

SAP S/4HANA Finance or SAP Group Reporting Certification is a strong plus.

Experience

8–12 years total SAP experience; 5+ years in SAP FICO; 3+ years in Group Reporting / Financial Consolidation.
