SAP ECP Functional Consultant – Australian Payroll (Contract)
Location: Remote (India-based, supporting Australian operations)
Contract Duration: Minimum 12 months
Work Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) / 4:30 AM – 12:30 PM IST
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to act as the single point of contact for fortnightly payroll support, specializing in Australian payroll operations. This role carries sole responsibility for resolving high-priority and critical payroll incidents, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery for our Australian workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the sole functional consultant responsible for supporting and resolving high-priority and critical SAP payroll incidents
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues within tight timeframes to ensure fortnightly payroll runs are not disrupted
Manage end-to-end incident resolution via Jira, including ticket triage, root-cause analysis, and closure
Provide hands-on support for payroll schema and PCR (Payroll Control Record) configuration and troubleshooting
Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation and statutory requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver timely fixes and updates
Maintain clear, proactive communication with Australian stakeholders during overlapping business hours
Document incidents, resolutions, and recurring issues for knowledge continuity
Required Qualifications
14+ years of overall SAP functional consulting experience
SAP ECP (Employee Central Payroll) certification — mandatory
Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with Australian payroll, with strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation
In-depth expertise in payroll schemas and PCRs (Payroll Control Records)
Proven experience in fortnightly payroll support environments
Strong incident management experience, including Jira-based ticket resolution
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as a sole SME
Desirable Skills
ABAP debugging skills (beneficial, not mandatory)
1. Functional Consultant Payroll (MUST)
2. AU legislation (MUST)
3. ECP Certified or SAP HCM Certified(MUST)
