Sr. SAP Basis Consultant
Location: Hyderabad (Hybrid) or Gurugram (Hybrid)

Summary:
Required experienced SAP BASIS professionals (typically 8–10+ years) with strong expertise in application-layer BASIS, S/4 conversions, and upgrade activities including Java and web stack. The scope of work includes executing system upgrades, supporting ECC-to-S/4 migrations, managing transport and landscapes, and ensuring system stability and performance. Candidates will work on parallel transformation tracks, handling integrations with multiple third-party tools while maintaining operational continuity. The role operates within a large and complex SAP landscape comprising hundreds of systems across multiple environments including ECC, S/4, BW, and other integrated platforms, supporting ongoing transformation and upgrade programs. The role follows a hybrid working model with preferred locations in Hyderabad and secondary preference for Gurugram, with flexibility for other locations as needed.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Strong experience in SAP BASIS (Application Layer focus)
- Strong experience in AMS like DR Drills SLT, other maintenance.
- Good experience in SAP OS DB Migration exposure
- Proven experience in SAP upgrades and S/4 conversions
- Hands-on with Java stack & Web Dispatcher upgrades
- Exposure to large-scale SAP landscapes (multi-system environments)
- Knowledge of HANA, Oracle, and Linux (SuSE) environments
- Familiarity with integration-heavy ecosystems and enterprise tools
- Ability to work in high-complexity, global transformation programs
- Execute end-to-end SAP upgrade activities across non-ECC, S/4, and integrated systems, including Java stack and web stack upgrades, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Participate in ECC to S/4HANA conversion initiatives, including preparation, system readiness, SUM/DMO execution, and post-conversion stabilization.
- Focus on application-level SAP Basis operations such as client management, transport management, system refreshes, and performance tuning.
- Work within complex SAP environments consisting of large-scale multi-system landscapes, ensuring consistency and standardization.
- Support simultaneous project streams including S/4 upgrades and landscape readiness for cloud migration.
- Execute kernel upgrades, patching, system copies, client copies, and performance optimization across SAP systems.
- Validate system readiness and compatibility with cloud applications, third-party tools, and SAP utilities during upgrades.
- Work with SAP systems running on HANA, Oracle, and legacy DB2 environments with exposure to migration and optimization.
- Leverage enterprise tools like automation platforms, monitoring solutions, and data masking tools for efficient BASIS operations.
- Manage transport landscape across multiple environments, ensuring clean release cycles and alignment with project timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for seamless project execution and delivery.
- Provide BASIS support across multiple global SAP landscapes adhering to enterprise standards and best practices.
- Support project go-lives, cutover planning, and hypercare stabilization phases.
- Align BASIS activities with overall SAP transformation, cloud migration, and S/4 modernization initiatives.
- Perform system health checks and proactively identify risks to avoid production outages.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues across ABAP and Java stacks with root cause analysis.
- Monitor SAP systems using enterprise monitoring tools and ensure SLA adherence.
- Support SAP transport routes, retrofit strategies, and parallel development workflows in multi-track environments..
