Join us in a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. If you are passionate about solvency analytics, thrive in a data driven environment, and want to make a real impact on how a leading global reinsurer manages risk and capital-this is the opportunity for you. As our Senior Risk Analyst, you will develop strong expertise in risk analytics and gain in-depth insight into Swiss Re's business and risk management solvency framework.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to grow deep expertise in solvency and risk reporting while building valuable technical, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. You will gain meaningful exposure to how risks are selected and monitored, and how senior management incorporates risk-adjusted performance considerations into strategic and business decisions.

Working at the heart of Swiss Re's solvency reporting function, you will contribute to high-impact deliverables that directly shape capital management and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Core member of P&C SMEs team, providing expert oversight and effective challenge across Swiss Re's key P&C risks.
  • Provide expertise on P&C risk drivers, including Natural Catastrophe, Underwriting, Reserving, Large Losses, and diversification impacts.
  • Analyze and summarize key events and drivers impacting Swiss Re's P&C risk profile.
  • Support legal entities with ad hoc analytical requests related to changes in risk profiles and risk transfer strategy, providing timely and well-reasoned outputs
  • Strengthen operational and governance frameworks, ensuring robust documentation and structured review processes.
  • Enhance the operational and governance framework by ensuring robust documentation, structured review processes, and appropriate governance oversight are consistently maintained.
  • Lead or contribute to model changes, methodology enhancements and system migrations impacting SST aggregation.
  • Understand Swiss Re's Internal Capital Model and SST regulations.

About the Team:

The SST & SII Aggregation team is part of Solvency Reporting & Analytics and plays a central role in Swiss Re's risk and capital management landscape. The team manages quarterly SST and Solvency II reporting and delivers key risk and capital insights to senior management.

Core activities include calculating critical risk metrics, analyzing solvency movements, and producing internal risk and solvency reporting for major operating entities. Beyond regulatory reporting, the team is actively engaged in a wide range of analytical initiatives and strategic requests that directly inform capital management and high-level business decisions - making it a highly visible and impactful team within the organization.

About You:

We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional who brings strong quantitative skills and a genuine interest in solvency and risk frameworks. You are someone who takes ownership of your work, communicates clearly with stakeholders at all levels, and thrives in a structured reporting environment. You bring both technical rigor and a collaborative mindset, and you are motivated to continuously grow your expertise in risk analytics and capital management.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • University degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, actuarial science, economics, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: P&C Reserving, Underwriting, Risk management or solvency modelling within insurance or reinsurance.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret complex results and translate them into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to challenge constructively and present findings with confidence.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working within structured and controlled reporting environments.
  • Experience with analytical or programming tools, such as PowerBI, Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in solvency, capital, and risk frameworks (e.g., SST, Solvency II, or internal capital models), with motivation to deepen this expertise on the job

These are additional nice to have:

  • Experience working within a regulatory reporting environment, particularly in solvency or capital reporting.
  • Familiarity with Swiss Re's internal capital model or similar proprietary risk frameworks.
  • Exposure to cross-functional or cross-entity projects involving risk transfer strategy or capital optimization.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Proven track record of driving improvements and automation in risk or actuarial reporting environments.
  • Strong governance mindset with a commitment to documentation, structured review processes, and audit readiness.

Swiss Re operates a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
