Position Title: Senior Retail Application Developer – ABW / Metropolis

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Retail Application Developer to support and enhance business-critical retail applications within a multi-channel retail environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Alpha-Base Window (ABW) and Metropolis platforms, along with a strong background in retail systems development and support.

As an alternative to direct ABW/Metropolis experience, we are open to considering candidates with strong Visual Basic programming expertise, combined with experience in AWS, ETL processes, and Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS). The selected candidate should demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning new technologies and be willing to undergo training on ABW and Metropolis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support retail applications and integrations.
• Enhance and troubleshoot applications built on Alpha-Base Window (ABW) and Metropolis platforms.
• Develop and maintain solutions using Visual Basic (VB6/VB.NET) and related technologies.
• Build and support data integration and ETL processes between retail systems and enterprise applications.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand retail operations and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support retail business functions including:
• Merchandising
• Inventory Management
• Supply Chain
• Store Operations
• Pricing & Promotions
• POS (Point of Sale) systems
• Retail Application Support
• Participate in application modernization and cloud migration initiatives leveraging AWS services.
• Perform root cause analysis, issue resolution, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across development, infrastructure, and business operations.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, security policies, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Preferred (Primary Requirement)

• Hands-on experience with Alpha-Base Window (ABW).
• Experience working with Metropolis applications/platforms.
• Proven software development experience within the retail industry.
• Experience supporting enterprise retail applications in a multi-channel or omnichannel environment.

Alternative Skill Set (Considered in lieu of ABW/Metropolis)

• Strong programming experience in Visual Basic (VB6, VBA, or VB.NET).
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services.
• Hands-on experience with ETL development and data integration.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS).
• Strong SQL and database development skills.
