Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Restaurant Captain role based in Chennai. The Senior Restaurant Captain oversees daily floor operations, ensuring smooth service, consistent guest engagement, and prompt resolution of any service issues. This role leads and supports the service team during shifts, including briefing staff, assigning sections, coordinating with the kitchen, and upholding brand standards. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, guiding them through the menu, monitoring table turnover, and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and readiness across the dining area. The Senior Restaurant Captain also trains team members, supports opening and closing procedures, tracks guest feedback, and contributes to continuous improvement of service standards and guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong supervisory skills with experience leading and mentoring front-of-house teams in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction and high-quality customer service, with a guest-first mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to handle guest feedback professionally.
  • Solid understanding of food & beverage service standards, menu flow, and coordination with kitchen and bar teams.
  • Prior experience as a Restaurant Captain, Head Server, or similar senior front-of-house role.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by restaurant operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and organized during busy service.
  • Knowledge of basic POS systems and order management processes; familiarity with contemporary dining concepts is a plus.
  • Diploma or certification in hospitality management or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
