Job Description

  • Clinical Duties: As a Senior Resident in Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, or other medical interventions
  • This includes administering anesthetics, monitoring patients during procedures, and managing their pain and vital signs
  • Supervision: As a senior resident, you will play a supervisory role over junior residents, medical students, and other healthcare staff involved in the anesthesia process
  • You will be responsible for guiding and teaching them, ensuring patient safety, and overseeing their progress and performance
  • Patient Assessment: You will be involved in preoperative patient assessment, reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and evaluating any potential risks or complications related to anesthesia
  • Anesthesia Management: Senior residents participate in creating and implementing anesthesia plans tailored to individual patient needs, considering factors such as age, medical conditions, and the type of surgery or procedure
  • Intraoperative Monitoring: During surgeries or procedures, you will continuously monitor patients vital signs, anesthesia depth, and adjust the anesthetic as necessary to maintain proper levels of sedation and pain control
  • Emergency Response: As a senior resident in anesthesiology, you must be prepared to respond to any anesthesia-related emergencies promptly
  • This may involve resuscitative measures, stabilizing patients, and communicating effectively with the surgical team
