A Senior Reservoir Engineerleads subsurface studies, field development planning (FDP), and reservoir management to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and asset value. Key responsibilities include numerical simulation, production forecasting, reserves estimation, and mentoring junior staff, typically requiring over 715 years of experience, a Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering, and expertise in reservoir simulation software.
Key Responsibilities
Reservoir Simulation Modeling: Build, history-match, and update numerical simulation models (e.g., CMG, tNav) to predict performance and optimize recovery.
Field Development Planning (FDP): Develop and optimize FDPs for existing and new projects, including infill drilling and well-spacing studies.
Reserves Evaluation: Perform production forecasting, decline curve analysis (DCA), and material balance calculations to estimate and book reserves.
Surveillance Optimization: Monitor reservoir performance, analyze pressure/rate transient data, and implement artificial lift or EOR techniques.
Data Acquisition: Design and supervise data gathering programs (pressure surveys, fluid sampling, core analysis) to refine reservoir characterization.
Technical Leadership Mentoring: Lead multidisciplinary teams, present to management, and provide training to junior engineers.
Economic Analysis: Evaluate project economics, profitability, and risk assessments for investments.
