  • Essential Qualification : M. Pharm., Ph.D (Pharmaceutics)
  • Experience : 4-5 years experience in formulations, Ayurvedic/ wellness company. Having authored publications will be an advantage.

Job Summary:

To lead the Formulation & Development team, manage the complete portfolio of Ayurveda products (like juices, tablets, capsules, granules, powders and others) end-to-end; Ensure timely planning, execution & alignment with different stake holders across cross functional teams &

CMUs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the complete portfolio of Ayurveda product development initiatives, ensuring structured project planning, timely execution, and alignment with regional new product development objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of Ayurveda based products across multiple dosage forms including Juices, tablets, powders, granules,syrups and others from concept creation through commercialization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturing Units to develop, refine, and commercialize product concepts.
  • Develop and finalize specifications for raw materials and finished goods, prepare comprehensive product dossiers, technology transfer documents, and coordinate content sheet preparation / labeling specifications on time.
  • Participate in and supervise plant trials for new products and technology transfers, ensuring appropriate sample approvals from marketing and submission of complete documentation to QA / Operations / CMUs.
  • Identify, assess, and introduce technological innovations and new product opportunities that strengthen the Ayurveda and health-focused portfolio.
  • Diagnose and resolve process-related challenges, and implement continuous improvement measures supported by sound analytical and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, nutritional standards, and documentation norms applicable within the Indian market (AYUSH / FSSAI-FSDU) and Harmonizing formulations across geographies.
  • Evaluate and qualify new raw materials for their suitability in enhancing functionality, optimizing costs, or improving overall product performance.
  • Conduct detailed benchmarking and comparative assessments of competitor products and present actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the qualification and assessment of contract manufacturers to ensure adherence to quality and operational standards.
  • Assist in developing technical presentations for new products intended for marketing teams / doctors training.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and verification of product labels, nutritional information, and claims to ensure compliance with brand and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all new developments and technology transfer activities.
  • Facilitate effective communication across project teams and manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to demanding timelines.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with external institutes and organizations for conducting safety assessments or clinical studies as required.

Expected Knowledge & Hands-On Experience

  • In-depth understanding of Ayurveda principles and their integration with contemporary scientific frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of safety assessment practices and experience in establishing safety profiles for Ayurveda-based ingredients.
  • Proven hands-on experience across major Ayurveda dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, granules, teas, kwaths, powders, and liquid formulations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management with strong organizational ability, meticulous attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
  • Effective leadership and teamwork capabilities with the ability to collaborate across diverse functional levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PLM systems, and other relevant digital tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface confidently with local, regional, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities with a focus on innovation and effective problem-solving.
