Job Description

Senior Renewable Energy Specialist (State Lead) - Pan India.

PwC is looking for candidates with 8+ years of experience, B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical/Mechanical/Power/Energy) + MBA/M.Tech (preferred), and 5+ years of experience in distributed / rooftop solar.

Locations: Capitals cities of Haryana / Rajasthan / Madhya Pradesh / Telangana / Assam / Odisha / Andaman & Nicobar Islands / Delhi NCR.

Minimum Qualification:

B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical / Mechanical / Power Systems / Energy Engineering

MBA or M.Tech in Energy Systems / Power Systems / Renewable Energy (preferred)

Must Experience:

Minimum 8+ years of total experience in power and renewable energy sector

At least 5+ years of experience in distributed solar / rooftop solar implementation

Hands-on experience working with DISCOMs, State Energy Departments, or State Nodal Agencies

Proven experience in program management, coordination, and implementation support.

Advantage:

Prior experience in management consulting or technical assistance assignments with Government/ PSU clients

Familiarity with international development agencyfunded programs (World Bank, ADB, etc.)

Experience in large-scale government schemes, institutional strengthening, and MIS-driven monitoring

Exposure to regulatory engagement (netmetering, billing mechanisms, RTS regulations).

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and operationalize State-level Project Management Units for rooftop solar implementation

Provide strategic and operational support to State Energy Departments, DISCOMs, and SNAs

Identify operational, regulatory, and institutional bottlenecks and recommend actionable solutions

Oversee end-to-end beneficiary and vendor lifecycle application, installation, commissioning, and subsidy disbursement

Coordinate with stakeholders on planning, reviews, and implementation progress

Own MIS, dashboards, KPIs, monthly progress notes, and quarterly reports.

Skills Required:

Strong understanding of rooftop solar programs, DISCOM operations, and implementation workflows

Experience in preparing implementation plans, SOPs, reports, and dashboards

Excellent program management, stakeholder coordination, and leadership skills

Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation capabilities

Ability to deliver under tight timelines in multi-stakeholder environments.
