About the Role

As a Senior Relationship Manager in the Corporate Liability vertical under Transaction Banking – Cash, you will lead client acquisition and relationship management for corporate liability accounts. In addition to managing your own portfolio, you will oversee a team of 3–4 Relationship Managers/Associate Relationship Managers, driving performance and ensuring effective client servicing. The role is focused on sourcing New-to-Bank (NTB) clients, deepening existing relationships, and delivering tailored cash and trade solutions to corporates across sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Acquire New-to-Bank (NTB) corporate liability clients and manage a portfolio of existing clients.
  • Develop and execute a corporate liability strategy for your assigned city/region, targeting top-tier clients.
  • Originate CMS, Trade Processing, and FX transactions from cash-rich corporates, including digital-first companies, IT/ITES firms, and MNC subsidiaries.
  • Engage with founders of well-funded startups, e-commerce platforms, and fintech firms to deliver customized cash and trade solutions.
  • Structure lending solutions backed by liquid assets or cash, including preparing short credit assessment memos.
  • Build strategic relationships with PE/VC funds, incubators, law firms, and chartered accountants to support their investee companies.
  • Drive cross-sell opportunities across salary accounts, wealth management, and other banking products.
  • Collaborate with product sales and implementation teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
  • Lead and manage a team of RMs/ARMs, ensuring effective sourcing, client management, and portfolio growth.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Address regulatory pendencies, client escalations, and business-as-usual service requests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and manage franchise risk.

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • Graduation: Any discipline.
  • Post-graduation: Any discipline (MBA/PGDM preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, transaction banking, or relationship management.

Skills and Attributes

  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong client acquisition and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of corporate banking products, especially CMS, Trade, and FX.
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders including CXOs and startup founders.
  • Strategic thinking with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
