We are looking for a Senior/Principal Frontend Engineer with strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and Micro-Frontend architecture to drive the regional delivery of a large-scale frontend platform.
You will work across multiple engineering teams and regions, helping define frontend architecture, engineering standards, reusable platforms, and best practices. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on technical expertise with the ability to influence and collaborate across a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve large-scale frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
- Drive Micro-Frontend architecture using Module Federation or equivalent technologies.
- Define frontend architecture, coding standards, development guidelines, and best practices across multiple engineering teams.
- Build and maintain shared SDKs, libraries, reusable components, and platform contracts consumed by multiple applications.
- Optimise frontend rendering, application performance, bundle size, and overall user experience.
- Support multi-region and multi-channel product delivery while maintaining a shared core codebase with flexible regional configuration.
- Work closely with regional engineering teams to ensure consistent implementation of frontend standards and architecture.
- Author technical specifications, architecture guidelines, and engineering documentation for adoption across teams.
- Work within enterprise CI/CD, security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Evaluate and adopt modern frontend build and development tooling such as Webpack, Rspack, Rsbuild, or similar technologies.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to frontend engineers across distributed teams.
Core Requirements
- Strong hands-on expertise in React and TypeScript.
- Deep understanding of TypeScript type systems, frontend architecture, rendering, and performance optimisation.
- Proven production experience with Micro-Frontend architecture.
- Strong experience with Module Federation or equivalent Micro-Frontend technologies.
- Experience defining and implementing engineering standards across multiple teams.
- Proven experience developing shared SDKs, libraries, design systems, or platform contracts used by multiple downstream applications.
- Experience supporting multi-region, multi-brand, or multi-channel applications from a shared codebase.
- Strong knowledge of modern frontend build tools such as Webpack, Rspack, Rsbuild, or similar.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments with established CI/CD, governance, security, and compliance processes.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed and regional engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with iOS/Android WebView or hybrid mobile applications.
- Knowledge of native bridge patterns between web and mobile applications.
- Experience with frontend observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, or OpenTelemetry.
- Understanding of frontend security concepts including Content Security Policy (CSP), CORS, cross-origin script loading, and secure Micro-Frontend integration.
- Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
