Job Description

  • The post holder should be able to perform a wide range of Radiographic examinations including Xray and CT, providing direct care and contributing to a high-quality diagnostic imaging service in order to assist in the management of patients referred from clinicians located within and outside the hospital. Based at Caithness General Hospital, Wick some occasional work at the Lawson Memorial Hospital in Golspie is also required. On call commitment to the 24/7 service at CGH is required. Future plans include possible extension of core hours to increase capacity and enhance the patient experience.
  • Staff must be suitably qualified with a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and ideally have a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience. The department would consider newly qualified / less experienced Radiographers, where the department would support you in completing in house competencies under Annex 21.
  • HCPC registration is essential.
  • Good communication, team working and organisational skills along with evidence of continuing professional development and an ability to take responsibility and act in a supervisory capacity is highly desirable.
  • Driving licence and use of own car would be preferred.
