About the Company
India-based deep technology startup building advanced AI, quantum, and intelligent computing solutions for global enterprises. We work with US-based clients and innovation-driven organizations to solve high-impact business challenges using next-generation technologies.
We are building a world-class team focused on practical innovation, scalable engineering, and real-world business outcomes across financial services, optimization, AI, and computational intelligence.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Quantum Computing Engineer with 8–9 years of experience to lead advanced R&D in quantum algorithms, error correction, and hybrid quantum-classical workflows for financial services. This role emphasizes leadership in designing production-ready quantum solutions for portfolio optimization, risk modeling, derivatives pricing, and large-scale financial optimization problems.
The ideal candidate will combine deep quantum expertise with strong industry experience, guiding teams and projects from theoretical formulation to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantum Algorithm Development
Lead design and benchmarking of advanced quantum and hybrid algorithms (QAOA, VQE, QNSGA, Clifford-based optimizers).
Architect scalable quantum error correction frameworks (LDPC, QLDPC, surface codes) and noise-resilient decoders.
Evaluate algorithmic performance against classical baselines and ensure production readiness.
2. Financial Use Case Development
Apply quantum optimization techniques to portfolio management, risk analysis (VaR, CVaR), derivatives pricing, and trading operations.
Translate complex financial problems into quantum-ready mathematical models.
Drive innovation in quantum-inspired algorithms for financial services.
3. Engineering & Experimentation
Build production-grade quantum experiments using Python, NumPy, SciPy, and Qiskit.
Integrate hybrid quantum-classical workflows with cloud platforms and HPC systems.
Execute experiments on real quantum hardware (IBM Quantum, IonQ, Rigetti, D-Wave) and apply error mitigation strategies.
4. Leadership & Mentorship
Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and oversee end-to-end R&D lifecycles.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed quantum solutions into enterprise pipelines.
Represent the organization in conferences, workshops, and client discussions.
5. Research & Innovation
Stay current with advances in NISQ-era algorithms, error correction, and quantum optimization.
Publish research, contribute to open-source projects, and build partnerships with academic and industry leaders.
Required Qualifications
Education
PhD or Master's degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.
Exceptional industry experience may substitute for advanced degrees.
Technical Skills
Strong foundation in quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, and optimization.
Proficiency in Python, C, and quantum SDKs (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, Braket, Ocean).
Expertise in quantum error correction (LDPC, QLDPC, surface codes) and optimization techniques.
Experience with hybrid quantum-classical workflows and large-scale simulations.
Quantum Experience
8–9 years of hands-on quantum computing R&D, with proven industry applications.
Deep expertise in variational algorithms, Hamiltonian simulation, block-encoding, and LCU methods.
Strong understanding of hardware constraints (noise, decoherence, qubit connectivity).
Ability to assess quantum advantage and propose classical alternatives when appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or quantitative research.
Familiarity with portfolio theory, derivatives pricing, and stochastic processes.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing systems.
Publications, patents, or recognized contributions in quantum computing.
Soft Skills & Mindset
Strong analytical and problem-formulation skills.
Ability to explain complex quantum concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable working in high-ambiguity, research-driven environments.
Pragmatic, business-impact-oriented mindset with leadership qualities.
Compensation & Budget
Compensation is negotiable based on experience, skill depth, and domain expertise.
