39k Group is hiring a hands-on Quant Developer to help scale and optimize the infrastructure behind our high-frequency crypto trading strategies. This is a technical, high-impact role designed for someone who wants to work closely with traders, solve real-time problems, and build systems that directly contribute to trading performance.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain connectivity to global trading venues, optimizing systems from both software and infrastructure perspectives.
- Write internal tools for real-time risk monitoring, strategy control, and operational oversight.
- Enhance and maintain the firm's reporting and analytics infrastructure, making PnL and trading behavior more transparent and actionable.
- Build customized applications that help solve day-to-day trading and operations challenges no layers of abstraction.
- Manage and operate Linux-based trading machines, handling process tracking, log management, system health, and deployment workflows.
- Work with InfluxDB, QuestDB, and similar time-series tools to empower traders and researchers with fast, accurate data access.

You'll be part of a small, focused team that includes traders, developers, and business leads working collaboratively with a high degree of ownership. Each team is responsible for its own strategy stack, infrastructure, and performance, offering autonomy and clear accountability. The structure is lean and performance-focused, enabling you to move quickly from idea to impact.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a trading firm, HFT desk, or infrastructure-heavy quant research role.
- Advanced programming skills in Python and C++; familiarity with Rust is a plus.
- Experience operating and optimizing Linux systems in production trading or data environments.
- Comfort working with tick-level and time-series datasets for research, monitoring, and signal development.
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills, especially in live trading contexts.
- Clear sense of ownership and urgency, with the ability to balance technical rigor and trading needs.
