Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Automation & Functional Test Engineer with strong Japanese language proficiency to work on critical global applications for our Japanese clients. This role involves direct collaboration with Japanbased stakeholders, ensuring quality, reliability, and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform endtoend functional testing across web and/or enterprise applications
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using industrystandard tools
  • Actively communicate with Japanese clients to understand requirements, test scenarios, and defect resolution
  • Translate test artifacts (test cases, defect reports, test plans) between Japanese and English
  • Participate in test strategy, test planning, and execution
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts
  • Ensure high test coverage, quality metrics, and ontime delivery

Required Skills/Experience

  • Japanese language proficiency - JLPT N2 or N1 (Mandatory)
  • 4+ years of experience inFunctional & Automation Testing
  • Strong experience with Selenium / Playwright / Cypress / Appium (any one or more)
  • Solid understanding ofSTLC, SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience in API testing (Postman/REST Assured preferred)
  • Defect tracking tools: JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Ability to lead discussions with Japanese clients confidently

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Japanese clients or projects
  • Certification in ISTQB / Automation tools
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
  • Experience in Banking / Automotive / Manufacturing / ERP domains
